Hades is going to be available on iOS devices in 2024 via Netflix, Supergiant Games has confirmed. This will allow Netflix subscribers to play Hades on iPhone and iPad. The game will not be purchasable independently on the App Store, and it will likely require iOS 16 or later to run smoothly. Android users will be left disappointed as Supergiant Games has confirmed there are no plans to release on that system at the moment.
Hades on iOS will support both touchscreen controls and bluetooth controllers. Supergiant Games have been working with Secret6 on this port of the game. The development studio has in the past collaborated with Naughty Dog, EA and CD Projekt RED on some of their biggest projects including Uncharted 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.
Supergiant’s next game is Hades 2, and it was announced last year at The Game Awards. It features a new protagonist, who is the daughter of Chronos and the Princess of the Underworld, but builds on similar principles to the original, from the characters you meet, to the action RPG combat style and more.
Hades is a fantastic game. In our 10/10 review, Jason said, “Hades is one of the best roguelites of all-time. It’s a phenomenal achievement in story telling, gameplay, and an absolute treat for both your eyes and ears. It’s astounding, and it’s always been fairly astounding through Early Access, but this final release cements it as one of the greats. If you like roguelites, and even if you don’t, you should probably get in on this as soon as you can.”
The release date for Hades on iOS is yet to be confirmed by Supergiant Games and Netflix, though it is set to be released at some point in 2024. A release date for Hades II is yet to be confirmed too.
