Edens Zero, the manga by Hiro Mashima, is getting the videogame treatment and it is coming to PS5, Xbox Seris X|S, and PC in 2025, Konami has announced. The game adaptation of Edens Zero will contain major plot points from the manga series, but will mix that with some player choice too. This means that there will likely be story beats that fans of the Edens Zero manga are not familiar with. You can check out the announcement trailer below.
Edens Zero story follows Shiki, Rebecca, Weisz, and Homura, all of whom are confirmed playable characters, and can be switched between in battles to provide the best advantage. As progress is made more playable characters will join Shiki’s crew. Every character has their own combat style, though all will have melee and ranged attacks. They also have their own finishing attacks that use Ether Gear. During battle, characters can also access Overboost that, if triggered at the right time, will boost both attack and defense. Signature actions and special skills are also present for each character, with these inflicting heavy damage if executed properly.
Outside of battles, Shiki and crew will travel aboard the Edens Zero, visiting different planets and picking up various quests. In some cases, Shiki will be able to recruit certain characters to the crew once quests are complete. Crew members will have additional requests for Shiki, and there are also conversations between characters that will be unique to the game. It has also been confirmed that the planet of Blue Garden will be fully explorable after a certain point in the game, and that Edens Quest features approximately 200 quests to complete which are spread out all over the place. Again, many of these will be unique to the game. Edens Quest will have a lot of character customisation available too, with more than 700 items that can be equipped by the crew.
A set release date is yet to be confirmed for Edens Quest.
