Mortal Kombat 1 is a mess on Switch. It's evident in the potato-quality models, the rampant game-breaking bugs, and the half-finished fatalities. NetherRealm isn't denying it, either, as Ed Boon has since commented on the controversial port, promising to iron out the kinks.
"[The port will] absolutely be getting an update," Ed Boon told the BBC. "And a number of the concerns of the issues that had come up will absolutely be addressed. It would have been ideal for us to have released the version that we absolutely wanted. But anything that we're finding a problem with is on our list and is going to be fixed. Anything that we see that is not acceptable will absolutely be addressed."

Bizarrely, Mortal Kombat 1 didn't launch for PS4 and Xbox One as NetherRealm opted to focus on current-gen consoles, but it still released a downgraded Switch port, despite the platform being even weaker than the two skipped. It runs, which is impressive enough, and manages to maintain a decent, steady framerate thanks to some noticeable cut corners that have been meme'd into oblivion. But if you can get past the visuals to enjoy handheld Mortal Kombat 1, there are a few glaring issues.
