Dwayne «The Rock» Johnson reacts to the incredible response to BlackAdam's first official trailer. Johnson has been attached to Black Adam for almost a decade. Later this year, he'll finally make his debut as the anti-hero alongside DC Comics' first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, which includes Pierce Brosnan's Dr. Fate, Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone, and Hodge's Hawkman.
As an Egyptian slave who is granted superpowers by the ancient wizard, Shazam, Black Adam was originally going to be introduced in 2019's Shazam!. However, Johnson made an executive decision, scrapping Black Adam cameos in other DC Extended Universe projects in favor of a definitive solo debut. Following a handful of enticing teases, the official trailer for Black Adam arrived on June 8, giving fans their first look at the character's tragic backstory and explosive battle with anything/anyone who stands in his way. The response to it has been overwhelmingly positive.
