Dwayne Johnson stars in the first trailer for Black Adam, the upcoming DCEU movie that is set to introduce the titular antihero. Black Adam has long been a passion project for the wrestler turned actor and he has been very open about the production process of the highly-anticipated movie. Johnson will star alongside Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan, all of whom will comprise the Justice Society of America. They are set to play heroes Atom Smasher, Hawkman, Cyclone, and Doctor Fate, respectively. Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, and Mo Amer will also star.
Black Adam will serve as an origin story of sorts for Johnson's character as it is set to explore the beginnings of the character while also re-introducing him 5,000 years later when he was freed from imprisonment. How this will intersect with the Justice Society of America remains unclear, but it seems possible that Black Adam could find himself at odds with the new set of heroes. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Adam has been delayed several times, most recently to its October 2022 release date. Still, anticipation for the film has remained high, especially after the first Black Adam footage was teased at DC FanDome.
Now, Warner Bros. has released the first official Black Adam trailer. Check out the video below:
