Both Black Adam and Superman seem evenly matched as superheroes, but is it possible that Black Adam is stronger than the Man of Steel? In the new trailer for Black Adam the antihero is shown flying at high speeds, taking out aircraft, blasting through walls with lightning, catching rockets, deflecting bullets, tossing men over cities, and absorbing entire explosions, making his power set eerily similar to Superman's. While both Black Adam and Superman share similar abilities, however, their powers are derived from very different places, making their match-up a bit more complex.
Black Adam's powers are essentially derived from the ancient wizard Shazam, gifting him with the powers of the gods, including Shu (stamina), Hershef (strength), Amon (power), Zehuti (wisdom), Anpu (speed), and Menthu (courage), making him a force to be reckoned with for any superhero. Superman, on the other hand, is an alien born on the planet Krypton who gets his powers from the Earth's yellow sun, absorbing solar energy to fuel his many abilities, such as flight, heat/x-ray vision, invulnerability, super hearing, super speed, super strength, solar eye blasts, etc. These powers are similar in magnitude to Black Adam's, making each character a very even match, even with their powers being derived from very different origins that make for some individual weaknesses as well.
