Dragon's Dogma 2 features ten different vocations, allowing you to employ different fighting styles to defeat the many enemies you will meet on the road. Every vocation is extremely fun to use, so you will want to try all of them out before settling on one.
To do so, however, you will have to unlock some of them first. This is the case of the Trickster, a unique vocation that puts the Arisen into a markedly supportive role.
To unlock the Trickster vocation, you will have to make some progress in the main story, as you will need to reach the Kingdom of Battahl, which cannot be explored until you start the Nation of the Lambent Flame quest. As part of this quest, you will need to head to the Checkpoint Rest Town and gain access to Battahl, but you can only do so using the permit handed to you by Captain Brant. Additionally, your Arisen must either be a Beastren or pose as one, the latter done by equipping a mask. You can purchase one from the Rest Town's Ibrahim's Scrap Store.
Once you have access to Battahl, you will need to head to a shrine located to the south of the Checkpoint Rest Town. Here, talk with Luz, and the Trickster vocation will be unlocked. One of the most unique vocations in the game, it can only be used by the Arisen.
