After revealing Season of the Malignant for Diablo 4, Blizzard Entertainment dropped patch 1.0.4 for all platforms. It’s smaller than the action RPG looter’s last update, but it makes one big change: Uniques can now drop from Helltide Chests.
In addition to making them more rewarding, this gives players more chances for extremely rare Uniques like Harlequin Crest (aka Shako) and The Grandfather. Granted, with their low drop rates, it may not be that much more of an increase, but any reason to farm Helltides, especially since they’re a core end-game activity, is good.
Other changes include Brol, Vhenard and Cyhrach having their damage and health pools reduced, which should make for less frustrating fights. The crafting material cap has also gone from 9,999 to 99,999, so you can now pick up even more resources.
Check out the full patch notes below. Diablo 4 is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Season of the Malignant kicks off on July 20th – head here for more details on how seasonal characters work and what the Battle Pass offers.
