It's no secret that Bungie has been going through a rough patch with Destiny 2. The community has been pretty vocal about its criticism of Lightfall and almost everything else that came with it. Seasoned players know of the devs putting out good expansions on an alternating basis, but even by that standard, the latest one seems like Destiny 2's lowest point.
At this stage, one would consider whether to build something better on top of what already exists, or to wipe the slate clean and make something new using everything they've learnt. Of course, there is a lot to consider when it comes to making a new live service game, especially when it's the game every other game wants to be.

But when has lack of knowledge about a subject stopped anyone from debating it? It seems like a lot of players in the community think it's time for Bungie to start anew, with Destiny 3. A Tweet by The Destiny Show, a podcast and community for the game, simply says, "Unpopular opinion: Destiny 3 needs to happen." And it seems like a lot of people agree.
"The cracks are starting to become more & more noticeable — every day," replies ZayOsiris Gaming. "Let’s hope they’re having some internal discussions on how to go about D3 or ways to stabilize the current system. Because patching one hole almost always makes a new one."
While some players think the fault lies in the narrative and live service features of the game, others feel that the game is suffering from a much larger issue.
