Season of Defiance's story has continued on from the events of Lightfall, depicting the war at home for the denizens of the Last City against The Witness' forces on Earth. Destiny 2 mainstays Amanda Holliday, Devrim Kay, Mithrax, Crow, and Mara Sov led the charge this season as players worked to push back The Witness' forces and rescue prisoners taken by The Shadow Legion all over the EDZ and Cosmodrome. While the team's rescue efforts have been successful, it also saw Amanda Holliday sacrifice her life to ensure Mithrax could rescue prisoners from a Shadow Legion prisoner camp set to self-destruct as a result of the rescue mission.
