Dell's XPS 15 and 17 laptops are getting a CPU and GPU upgrade, but their prices tags will make your wallet cry.
The refreshed XPS 15 arrives today starting at $2,949, alongside the larger XPS 17, which will cost $3,479 and up. Both are available on Dell.com.
In return, customers will receive workhorse notebooks that include Intel's latest 13th generation "Raptor Lake" Core processors and Nvidia’s new RTX 4070 mobile GPUs. Dell is pricing the laptops at the ultra high end, citing how both laptops run top-tier Intel Core i9 processors.
The XPS 15 will also come with a 3.5K OLED touch display capable of generating vibrant colors and deep blacks. Last year’s model won our Editors' Choice award, thanks to the stunning screen and exceptional CPU performance, so buyers should expect an even better experience from the upgraded model. Meanwhile, the larger XPS 17 laptop sports a non-OLED 4K display with touch-screen functionality. It too features 32GB DDR5 memory and 1TB of SSD storage. However, buyers can spend more and upgrade it with a more powerful Nvidia RTX 4080 mobile GPU. On the downside, the product weighs about a pound more than the XPS 15.
If you’re looking for more affordable configurations, Dell says additional models will arrive later this spring for US consumers.
To round out the portfolio, the PC maker is also refreshing the XPS Desktop. It too will receive a high price at $2,849 while packing an Intel 13th generation Core i7 processor, a pricey Nvidia RTX 4080 graphics card, 512GB of SSD storage, in addition to liquid cooling. Other
