One fact players should remember before selecting a spell to unlock through their level-up is how much negative Spirit build-up that magic costs. The Spirit Gauge determines the player's ability to be staggered in combat by even the most common enemy, leading to huge damage if they aren't careful.
Although being aggressive does potentially build positive Spirit, highly expensive spells are certainly risky ways to drag the Gauge in the opposite direction, even if players are close to one of 's Flag locations within the story.
