In Blue and Gold #6, the Time Master arrives to help Blue Beetle and Booster Gold save Earth from the Omnizon, who believes the planet her domain, and fans learn that Rip’s knowledge of space and time makes him truly dangerous. Blue and Gold #6 is written by Dan Jurgens, drawn by Ryan Sook, inked by Sook and Wade von Grawbadger, colored by Steve Buccellato and Chris Sotomayor and lettered by Rob Leigh. Rip Hunter, the Time Master, first appeared in 1959’s Showcase #20, created by Jack Miller and artist Rubin Moreira. Hunter is one of DC’s most enigmatic heroes, never disclosing his true name or identity, in fear that his enemies might travel back and kill him as a child. Rip Hunter is so committed to preserving his identity that not even Booster Gold, his biological father, knows that Hunter is his son. Recently, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle attempted to establish a “Heroes for Hire” type business, one subsidized by Beetle’s fortune. This plan fell through, thanks to Beetle being shut out of his own company. Booster Gold and Blue Beetle’s troubles were compounded by the arrival of the Omnizon, an alien warrior claiming Earth as her own. Help has arrived, however, in the form of Rip Hunter.
