'Tis the season to… get spooky? At least, that's how Dave the Diver is celebrating the holidays with free DLC inspired by the Lovecraftian game Dredge. The update will arrive December 15 on PC and Nintendo Switch and adds a new night map, Aberrant fish, and more to the popular adventure RPG.
The Dredge content pack for Dave the Diver was announced at The Game Awards last night, December 7. Both games focus on fishing, leading to the collaboration--though only Dave the Diver will see the crossover content (at least for now).
A fog weather event in Dave the Diver apparently kicks off the Dredge DLC. This then leads to new Dredge boat mechanics for Dave, as well as Aberrant fish to hunt and a night map. There will even be hooded figures showing up at the restaurant wanting meals made of the freshly added sea creatures.
The scuba-and-sushi game made quite the splash over the summer. Dave the Diver had an impressive upward trajectory for player count in July, with Circana video game analyst Mat Piscatella joking that everyone would eventually be checking out the game. Originally only available on PC, Dave the Diver released on Switch on October 26.
Meanwhile, check out GameSpot's Dredge review for more about that maritime adventure game. It's out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.
