The developer of Darkwood, Acid Wizard Studio, has announced that it is taking a break.
In a thread on Twitter, the developer said that it would be taking an indefinite hiatus after the upcoming update for the 2017 horror game.
"We haven't been able to create a work environment that would not be destructive to our personal lives," Acid Wizard wrote.
"Our families are our top priority and they should not be affected negatively by our work. So ultimately we decided that it would be best if we part ways, with a possibility of returning in 5-10 years when we get our shit together. This doesn't have to be bad news! We aren't disappearing into thin air and would like our games to live on."
The studio added that it is interested in having other companies work on a sequel to Darkwood as well as continue development on the turn-based sports title, Soccer Kids, which recently came out in alpha form.
"So spread the word - if you're a developer/publisher who's interested in working on those IPs, hit us up," the studio said.
