Last week, CD Projekt Red shared that the game's big 2.0 update – the long-awaited overhaul that promises to rework many of the game's systems – will launch tomorrow, August 21. While the announcement video confirmed a date, it left out what time the patch would go live, leaving fans to speculate what time they'd be able to jump into the newly overhauled Night City.
Earlier today, CDPR took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to announce a new stream in its RedStreams series, which the Warsaw, Poland-based studio often uses to reveal new updates and information on Cyberpunk 2077. The stream's scheduled for 4:00 PM CEST (or 7:00 AM PST or 5 PM BST).

This announcement led to widespread speculation that Update 2.0's launch would somehow be connected to the stream. Amelia Kołat, a community manager at CDPR, confirmed that the developer was aiming to release the update, "close to the end of the stream," which confirmed fan theories.

The first RedStream lasted roughly an hour, so it's safe to assume that the Update can be expected to hit digital storefronts around or soon after 8 AM PST and 6 PM BST respectively. Of course, these kinds of drops are subject to change based on a variety of factors, and we don't know exactly how long the stream will last, so we might be off by a few minutes.
