Cyberpunk 2077 is getting some widely requested features, including a fully functional metro system. As of version 2.1, players looking for max immersion will be able to ride the metro in real-time, rather than just rely on fast travel points.
This will give you a chance to try out another new feature - a portable radio. Finally, we'll be able to listen to tunes outside of vehicles, so you won't have to hang out in your car when you've already reached your destination.
This was just revealed in a livestream going over some of the biggest features in the Version 2.1 update. All in all, it seems that the next patch is focused on improving immersion, letting you fully roleplay as a Night City resident.
This has been a widely requested feature among fans for some time, so much so that it was even modded into the game two years ago. CD Projekt Red has previously said there were no plans to add it to the game, but it seems that it came around to the idea eventually. However, in the live stream, the devs hint that it will be more than just an extended loading screen to get to your location, suggesting that there will be some activities to get up to onboard the metro. They wouldn't say what this will entail, though.
Also revealed in the stream is the portable radio system. This means we'll be able to tune in to any of the radio stations no matter where we are - which is handy because we don't spend all that much time in vehicles anyway.
