The hit TV series Creepshow is returning to its comic book inspirations with Skybound to bring fans a new horror anthology. For years, Skybound has best been known for producing the critically acclaimed zombie comic The Walking Dead with indie comic powerhouse Image Comics. Now, Skybound and Image are reuniting to recapture the magic of the zombie series with two ambitious horror projects. One is a new horror anthology called Afterschool, which will be released in June. The other is a new comic series based on the current TV adaptation of the horror sensation Creepshow.
Creepshow is a Shudder exclusive horror anthology that provides a creepy new story every episode. Taking influence from classic EC Comics like Tales from the Crypt, the series follows the Creep as he takes viewers through countless tales of terror and revenge. The concept originally debuted in 1982 as a film collaboration between Night of the Living Dead director George A. Romero and horror author Stephen King to bring his short stories to the screen in a distinctly comic-book style. In a pure expression of that intent, the Creep is going to make an appearance in comic stores this September.

According to Comicbook.com, Creepshow will be getting a five-issue series beginning in September. Each comic will be framed like the series as a collection of horror stories that pay homage to the EC Comics style of the 1950s. While the Creep appeared in comics before for an adaptation of the 1982 film, these tales will be entirely original.
