For anyone who read Goosebumps or Fear Street as a kid, author R.L. Stine was an integral part of their childhood and more than likely contributed to a borderline unhealthy affinity for horror-related content as an adult–and now, the brilliant mind behind some of the most iconic kid-friendly scary stories is delving into the adult-horror genre through the world of comics as the Goosebumps’ author will reimagine classic monsters in an all-new BOOM! Studios series: Stuff of Nightmares.
Stuff of Nightmares will be a four-issue miniseries written by the Master of Horror himself, R.L. Stine and will feature the spectacularly terrifying artwork of A.L. Kaplan, who is best known for their work on books such as Maw and Jim Henson’s The Storyteller, with Eat the Rich’s Roman Titov on as colorist for the series. The first issue will feature main cover art from Afterlife with Archie’s Francesco Francavilla as well as a number of highly-collectible variant covers from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Miguel Mercado, Immortal Hulk’s Adam Gorham, Wonder Woman’s Jenny Frison, and Savage Spider-Man’s Kyle Holtz. A rare variant cover done by Something Is Killing The Children’s Björn Barends and signed by R.L. Stine will also be available as well as two glow-in-the-dark covers by Francavilla and original Goosebumps cover artist Tim Jacobus.
