Warning: This article contains spoilers for the series finale of The CW'sCharmed.
The executive producers of The CW's Charmed reboot have explained the shocking twist in the series finale. The show currently stars Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery, and Lucy Barrett as the Charmed Ones, a trio of young women who are good witches that possess magical powers. The series is based on the program of the same name that ran The WB from 1998 through 2006, starring Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano, and Rose McGowan (following Doherty's departure after season 3). The new series was abruptly canceled during a major sweep where The CW canceled many of its current shows including other reboots Dynastyand Roswell, New Mexico. Although it wasn't announced as such beforehand, this made it so that the Charmed season 4 finale had now become its series finale.
The series finale of Charmed, titled «The End is Never the End,» officially aired on June 10. The shocking conclusion revealed that the new version of the show is actually one facet of a multiverse that also includes the world of the original Charmed show. After stopping the apocalypse, the Charmed Ones discovered a magical door that transported them to the original series' Halliwell Manor. There isn't anybody home, but they enter the house and the doors shut behind them, implying that at least one of the Charmed Ones from that series was indeed present.
