How often have movies shown a group of clandestine G-men trying to hold a kaiju or a monster captive, only for it to break free and run rampage? It's clear that these shadowy syndicates need to learn a thing or two about keeping kaijus happy, and Bandai Namco may just be the teacher they need.
Last week, during the Nintendo Direct Mini, a lot of kaiju fans were disappointed as Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher only made an appearance in the Japanese version of the Direct, leading us to believe that it would be a Japan-only launch. However, Bandai Namco released an English version of the trailer yesterday, meaning the game will indeed be getting a global launch.

Unlike most kaiju games, Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher isn't about fighting them or leading them on a rampage. Instead, you're going to manage a ranch that raises and looks after kaijus, training them to become the next big thing after Godzilla itself. Speaking of Godzilla, perhaps the radioactive lizard's blockbuster bout against the massive monkey in Godzilla vs. Kong was one of the reasons why the publisher considered a western release as well.
You'll be able to generate your Ultra Kaiju from a huge database of kaiju from the Ultraman universe, including the likes of Gomora, Zetton, and even Alien Baltan. You'll also be able to get your hands on them via NFC-compatible cards, similar to amiibos. Then comes the task of raising said kaiju. In order to make sure it's strong and ready for the battle against Ultraman, you'll need to train it, let it explore the wild, and even compete in turn-based battles against other kaiju.
