In fact, the New York Times (NYT) has recently announced that it was able to see a drastic increase in subscriptions to its other gaming assets from the Wordle playing demographic. And although the game itself was simple and innovative, many felt that it had one issue. Players needed to play from the same device every single day to not lose their winning streak. At that time, the company stated that it will not be changing anything about the game and players will be able to enjoy the same Wordle experience, a promise it has kept so far. However, in a first, NYT will be making a change to the game to allow maintaining account progress easier for players. There is just one thing you need to do and that is create a NYT account. The feature will be available to both the free and paid members.
On July 12, the New York Times Games Twitter handle posted, “Exciting news, Wordlers. You will soon have the option to link your Wordle stats to your free or existing New York Times account. This means saving stats and your streak across *all* the devices you play Wordle on”.
