Afflicted Shell is one of the few Afflicted materials in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak that can be obtained by completing specific Anomaly Quests and hunting Afflicted Monsters. There are a few different monsters that can drop Afflicted Shells, so this guide will go over how to unlock Anomaly Quests in Sunbreak and how to get Afflicted Shells as fast as possible.
Afflicted Shells can be used as a forging material to upgrade certain weapons and craft useful decorations to equip on gear. The only way to get it is by targeting four specific Afflicted Monsters. Here's what players need to know.

The only way to fight Afflicted Monsters in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is to first complete the main story by defeating a boss monster called Gaismagorm. Once the credits roll and the player gets back into the action, Anomaly quests will become available at the Outpost Quest Counter.
Anomaly Quests pits players against familiar monsters that have become aggressive due to the effects of the Qurio. By defeating these Afflicted Monsters, Afflicted Materials can be earned.
Players will be given a couple of Anomaly quests to start out with, but more will become available as hunters increase their MR level and complete Urgent Quests.
Now, in order to find Afflicted Shells, players need to unlock the Anomaly Quests for at least one of these monsters: Shogun Ceanataur, Blood Orange Bishaten, Somnacanth, or Jyuratodus.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak players won't have access to any of these monsters' Anomaly Quests until getting to at least MR 30. Getting that high in ranking will unlock the 3-star Anomaly Quests, which feature the following monsters:
