While they are sympathetic for much of the series, the questionable Better Call Saul protagonists Jimmy McGill (later Saul Goodman) and Kim Wexler end up leaving a trail of destroyed lives and institutions behind them. By the time of Better Call Saul season 6, it has become clear that while he may never be a direct instrument of violence, Jimmy's desire to humiliate and mentally dominate those who have wronged him can be just as devastating as the actions of the crime lords around him. While initially appearing to be more of a positive influence, Kim ultimately shows herself to be potentially even more destructive through her precise scheming.
At the beginning of Better Call Saul, Jimmy McGill seems to be a world away from the cynical huckster Saul Goodman that viewers may know from Breaking Bad. While prone to taking shortcuts and scamming those looking to take advantage of others, Jimmy also seems to genuinely try to help the weak and powerless, and even attempts to walk the straight-and-narrow working at Davis & Main. His friend and later wife Kim Wexler seems to be even more well-intentioned, working within the Hamlin, Hamlin & McGill law firm to help the needy.

However, as Kim later acknowledges in Better Call Saul season 6 episode 9, the two of them turn out to be incredibly dangerous when working together. While often starting out with understandable intentions, Jimmy and Kim cause a huge amount of damage, with their actions leading to multiple deaths.
