Jesse Pinkman and Walter White finally make an appearance in Better Call Saul season 6, episode 11, «Breaking Bad», but there's more to come from the best meth cooks in the West. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul's return to the Breaking Bad world was the worst kept secret in TV and news of their return sparked an abundance of theories about how they would appear in Better Call Saul. Ultimately, the simplest answer was the correct one, as Walt and Jesse share a scene with Saul in the Breaking Bad timeline. Specifically, in between the events of Breaking Bad season 2, episode 8, «Better Call Saul.»
While their cameos were naturally the most talked about aspect of Better Call Saul season 6, episode 11, their return also acts as a curveball. Jesse and Walt's scene in Better Call Saul addresses Saul's infamous Lalo line, which is the nexus point of the entire prequel show, yet most of their scene doesn't advance Better Call Saul's action. Meanwhile, in the episode, Marion seems one step closer to discovering Gene's real identity, Gene pushes himself closer to an avoidable doom, and Gene's phone call to Kim's workplace is still to be uncovered. As a result, Jesse and Walt's scene acted as a distraction for the real drama to unfold quietly.

As such, Walt and Jesse's return is a glorious bit of fan service, but there may still be time in Better Call Saul for Breaking Bad's main characters to really leave their mark.
