Better Call Saul set decorator Ashley Marsh details how Walt and Jesse's iconic RV meth lab from Breaking Bad was recreated for season 6. Premiering on AMC in 2008, Breaking Bad follows a high school chemistry teacher, Walter White (Bryan Cranston), recently diagnosed with stage-three lung cancer who partners with his former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), to manufacture and sell crystal methamphetamine in order to secure his family's financial future. In the first episode, Walt and Jesse begin using a run-down 1986 Fleetwood Bounder as a mobile meth lab.
During the Breaking Bad season 2 episode titled «Better Call Saul,» Walt and Jesse meet the shady lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) and later team up with him to help grow their drug business. Premiering shortly after Breaking Bad ended, the prequel Better Call Saul follows Odenkirk's Jimmy McGill as he slowly devolves from an earnest public defender to the unscrupulous criminal lawyer audiences later come to know and love. After five and a half seasons, Walt and Jesse finally returned in the prequel series in an episode aptly titled «Breaking Bad» for a scene with Saul that takes place in their iconic RV.
