Creed: Rise to Glory now has a confirmed PlayStation VR2 release date and a new subtitle. The virtual reality boxing game set within the Rocky universe, started by Sylvester Stallone as a film series in 1976, was already a fan favorite across multiple VR platforms. Rise to Glory’s reissue for the updated PS VR2 comes with several tech upgrades that take full advantage of the new hardware.
Creed: Rise to Glory was originally released on the Oculus Quest and PlayStation VR back in 2018. Its release coincided with the release of Creed 2, the sequel to the film Creed starring Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, the son of long-time Rocky Balboa rival and eventual friend Apollo Creed. Rise to Glory was reviewed favorably by critics. Metacritic scores hover at around the mid-80s for the PC version and low 70s for the PS4 version.

Creed: Rise to Glory — Championship Edition will hit the PlayStation VR2 on April 4th, one month after Creed 3 lands in theaters. In addition to a roster that already included Rocky franchise mainstays like Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, and Rocky Balboa himself, players will now get the chance to take on Jonathan Majors’ character from Creed 3, Damien Anderson. The biggest change in the PS VR2 port comes on the technical side.
Championship Edition will come with full 4K and HDR support. Advanced controller tracking will make combat much more precise and the 110-degree field of view will make the game easier to play for players susceptible to motion sickness.
