From painting to turn-based volleyball fights, Chicory: A Colorful Tale studio Finji certainly knows how to switch things up between projects. The team has revealed its next game, titled Beastieball, during the Day of the Devs showcase, and it's a turn-based RPG based around volleyball. You'll recruit Beasties, who form your line-up on the battlefield and are equipped with offensive and defensive abilities based on whether you have the ball or not.
A press release reveals more: «Explore an open world and meet a diverse cast of Ranked coaches, each with their own story. You'll have to defeat them and raise your ranking if you want to compete in the Crown Series. Bosses are all revealed on your map from the start and can be defeated in any order. But after each one you defeat, the others become more powerful, so no matter which way you go you'll have a tough and exciting rise to the top.» All your Beasties have traits, strengths, and weaknesses unique to them, so you'll need to find a blend of fighters that work for you in every situation.
The game is only confirmed for PC as of right now, but a console release will follow afterwards. A Kickstarter page will be set up so you can lend your support to the project, but we know it'll be a $24.99 game. Are you interested? Post your first impressions in the comments below.
