Well, after being announced as major brand-new Xbox IP three years ago, today’s Xbox Games Showcase finally gave us our first big look at Obsidian’s upcoming fntasy RPG game, Avowed. And impressively, it’s also a gameplay trailer as well, allowing us the get our first look as to how Obsidian’s next big game should look in action. The game sees you investigating rumors of a spreading plague that could destroy everything, which would explain all of the infected-looking bears and the various other monsters and threats you’re facing off against. The focus for this clip is on combat, but the theme mentioned at the end appears to be “Forge Your Destiny,” which seems befitting Obsidian, whose strengths lie heavily in dialogue, story, and choices. Avowed arrives in 2024 for XSX and PC, when we’ll see just how massive it can be.
