Pragmata has been something of an enigma pretty much since the day it was announced. First revealed back in 2020 with a mysterious cinematic trailer, the sci-fi title was originally set to launch sometime in 2022, before being delayed to 2023, though other than said delay announcement, updates on the game were nonexistent for a long period following its reveal.
When Pragmata re-emerged at the recent Capcom Showcase, it took many people by surprise- though the update was, of course, a bittersweet one, with its brief, new gameplay teaser being accompanied by an announcement of another delay, with no new release date or window being confirmed this time around.
Given the circumstances surrounding the game, its launch, and its delays, many have presumed that Pragmata has run into development issues behind the scenes, and it seems like that has indeed been the case. prominent insider AestheticGamer has claimed on Twitter that “at one point” during development, Pragmata was internally rebooted, causing the delays.
The insider hasn’t elaborated on that tidbit, so it’s unknown exactly how much the game’s vision has changed, or how far along in development it is in its current form- though clearly, based on Capcom’s most recent update, it’s going to be a while before we get to play it.
Pragmata is in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Pragmata had a trailer showing the first gameplay of the game, but also a delay (to an unknown date for now), but ensure it's being worked on and not cancelled.
It was internally rebooted at one point.
