Marvel's Captain Carter finally receives her own 'elevator fight scene' moment that originally began with Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — but it's far more brutal. The close-quarters fight sequence is a highlight in the MCU, as Steve Rogers' former allies turn on him and attempt to capture him in an elevator at the SHIELD headquarters. ButCaptain Carter #3 brings the close-quarters combat to an entirely different character — and the fight takes on a terribly dark twist.
Captain Carter has exploded in popularity with the release of 2021's Marvel's What If...? series on Disney+. The character has only grown more popular with fans in the following year, appearing in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and finally her own Marvel comic series. Now, Captain Carter finds herself hunted by her own government in the same manner as Steve Rogers in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

In Captain Carter #3, written by Jamie McKelvie with art by Marika Cresta, Lizzie Braddock has just foiled an assassination attempt on her life, and discovers the weapons used in the attack belonged to the STRIKE Agency. She tells the new superhero Peggy Carter, who decides to infiltrate her superior's computer to determine the people responsible. Unfortunately, she's suddenly and without warning summoned to a briefing room for an impromptu meeting...which is actually a trap to murder Carter that very day.
