The controversial Superman story “Grounded” is about to get flipped, only this time it's for Captain America. In Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty #1, Steve Rogers returns to the neighborhood he grew up in, in an attempt to get back in touch with the people he has dedicated his life to. Over a decade ago, DC gave the Man of Steel a similar arc, but the story was not well-received, and nowCaptain America's mysterious new series is set to flip the script on this controversial story.
Stories of superheroes attempting to get back in touch with the people they save are popular with fans, and in 2010, DC Comics published “Grounded,” a Superman story initially written by J. Michael Stracyznski. After being gone in space for over a year, Superman began a “walk” across America, where he would meet with regular people and try to get “in touch” with them again. The story also saw Superman invent his own Batman Inc-esque Supermen group. While the aims of the story were high and noble, it was not well received, and Stracyznski abandoned the story midway, only for it to be finished by other writers.

Now, writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelley, artist Carmen Carnero, colorist Nolan Woodard and letterer Joe Caramagna are taking a similar approach to Captain America in the first issue of Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty.
