Call of Duty: Warzone has had plenty of regular balancing issues relating to various aspects of its gameplay loop over the years. Whether it's a weapon outlier or a new progression-breaking bug, the sheer complexity of the game guarantees that there's always something new coming apart. But one unexpected problem came about when one particular operator received a pitch-black skin.
It's been a long while since Roze received her «Rook» operator skin, and it's been a problematic release ever since. Namely, Call of Duty: Warzone's realistic lighting engine casts very dark shadows in certain areas of virtually every map, and crafty Roze players could use the Rook skin to hide in the shadows and effectively turn invisible in most situations.

While the specific operator skin in question did get nerfed late last year, a subsequent Warzone update seemingly reverted the Roze Rook nerf. At the time, this wasn't a massive issue due to the nature of the active map. Caldera was bright and vibrant, not giving Rook players very many shadows to hide in. This all changed with the release of Rebirth Island and a new gulag, and Raven Software was forced to act once more.
According to the latest patch notes, Raven applied a «70% adjustment» to the Roze Rook skin which should make it visible in most situations. This has, of course, happened several times already, and some believe that the problem lies with the way Modern Warfare's engine handles lighting. To that end, Warzone's nerfs of Roze might get invalidated again in the future, depending on the direction of upcoming levels and events.
