Yesterday, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 gameplay reveal trailer was finally dropped. Ever since the first announcement of the game, fans of the franchise have been wondering how the sequel to the 2007 game would look like. In many ways, the first installment of Modern Warfare was historic as it broke away from the world war setting of the Call of Duty games and instead brought upon a modern setting, weapons and an exciting gameplay. Now, 15 years and one reboot (in 2019) later, the publishers Infinity Ward would be looking to up their game to engage the players. And the trailer has given us a glimpse into what this game could look like.
The game is scheduled to get a global launch on October 28, 2022 and it brings back Task Force 141 as well as some very memorable and familiar names including Captain John Price, Sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley, Sergeant John “Soap” Mctavish and CIA Station Chief Kate Laswell. It was earlier reported that the game picks up directly after the events of Modern Warfare 1.
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 trailer is just under 2 minutes long and filled with cut-scenes and combat frames. While the trailer tries to not give away too much, it still has shots of Task Force 141 as well as some of the characters from part 1. We also see helicopter and port-side settings, letting us know that both aerial and ocean missions will be part of the campaigns at the very least.
And the campaign itself is going to be a huge part of the game, just like all CoD titles in recent times. Although we do expect the multiplayer elements to see some improvement, especially the matchmaking system, much information about it is not available at this time. You can check out the trailer
