For those unaware, Modern Warfare 2 doesn’t mark enemies as red dots on the map whenever they shoot, as it only displays them whenever a UAV is active. This means that players cannot figure out the exact position of their opponents when they shoot from a gun without a silencer, much to the disappointment of some Call of Duty users. Now, it looks like this classic mini-map does exist in Modern Warfare 2, but it seems to be limited to one game mode.

This has been a controversial topic in Modern Warfare 2, as some fans want this mini-map to become the standard again in Call of Duty games, while Infinity Ward states that it doesn’t want to punish players for firing their weapons.
Gun Game works differently from a regular 6v6 match of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which may be the reason for it having the classic mini-map. In a match of Gun Game, users are tasked with killing enemies with a series of guns in order, with the aim of becoming the fastest player to cycle through all available weapons.
