After a relatively stable and successful launch of Season 2 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2 earlier in February, Activision is capping off the month with a new patch for the game. It's been merely two weeks since the launch of Season 2 that saw the fan-favorite Resurgence mode returning to Call of Duty: Warzone 2, alongside a new map for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Infinity Ward has been hard at work updating the game with regular bug fixes, weapon rebalancing, and improving the game's stability.
Launched on February 15, Season 2 introduced a plethora of new content to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, namely the reintroduction of the Dome map from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Season 2 also saw the much-requested Gun Game and Infected game modes return to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, alongside the Ranked Play. Call of Duty: Warzone 2 also saw a whole host of changes in Season 2, with the return of Resurgence mode and the arrival of a new map.

The latest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is mainly targeted at stabilizing the game but also delivers a few weapon and attachment rebalancing. The patch mainly targeted the lethality of RPK, Fennec, and TAQ-V weapon platforms that have been dominating the Warzone 2 lobbies since Season 1. As detailed in the official patch notes, the update also buffs the Lachmann-762 Battle Rifle, improving performance at longer ranges.
