Bryce Dallas Howard responds graciously but coyly to calls for her to direct to her own Star Wars movie. Howard, who is the daughter of Solo: A Star Wars Story director Ron Howard, began her career as an actor taking minor roles in her father's films before moving on to more prominent projects throughout the 2000s, including several M. Night Shyamalan projects like The Village and playing Gwen Stacy in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 3. Her most prominent role to date is Claire Dearing in the Jurassic World franchise, the director of the dinosaur theme park gone wrong. She will be headlining the third film in that trilogy, the supposed franchise-capper Jurassic World Dominion, which is coming to theaters on June 9, 2022.
Although she is best known for her work in front of the camera, her transition to directing has been occurring for some time. She began in 2006 with the short film Orchids, after which she began directing shorts and music videos when she was able. Her directing career got a shot of adrenaline when she began helming episodes of the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian, including the memorable «Chapter 4: Sanctuary» and «Chapter 11: The Heiress.» Her direction of that series became so popular that she was asked to helm The Book of Boba Fett's Mandalorian episode, which aired earlier this year and saw Mando triumphantly return to the world of Star Wars after the end of season 2.
