If Borderlands 4 is set to be released on September 23, 2025, then it's likely , with its fall 2025 release window revealed during Take-Two's earnings call, will come out closer to October or November to avoid conflict. It's a little-known fact that and are published by the same parent company: Take-Two Interactive, which owns both 2K and Rockstar. While the two games obviously have different development and marketing teams, there may be an overlap in resources at Take-Two. It'd make sense to space them out a bit so the company isn't stretched totally thin.
This is a pretty common practice in the entertainment industry at large: movies, TV series, and games with similar audiences are typically spaced out, so the target audience of one doesn't end up conflicting with the target audience of the other. Most fans of both series wouldn't be likely to pick up both games on launch if they came out in the same month — who can afford that, especially if really does cost $100? Take-Two obviously wants both its games to succeed, and it wouldn't give either a fair chance by releasing them so close together.
