Amazon Prime Day (July 11-12) is prime time for getting new parts for your gaming PC. Whether you're upgrading components or looking to build a new rig, you'll want to check out all the current sales for parts like CPUs, motherboards, RAM, SSDs, power supplies, cases, and cooling fans. Some of these components have decent price cuts, but CPUs, motherboards, and SSDs in particular feature some really deep, head-turning discounts.
For example, you can get any of AMD's flagship CPUs with a major price slash, a few of which exceed half-off MSRP. The Ryzen 5 5600X is only $133 (down from $309) and the beefy Ryzen 9 5900X is at $275 (previously $570). Intel CPUs also have solid price cuts, such as the Core i9-12900K at $323 (originally $360) and Core i7-12700KF for $219 (down from $281). You may also need a motherboard to go with that new CPU, which you can find here--options like the bite-sized Asus ROG Strix Z690 mini-ITX for $252 (previously $400) or the Gigabyte Aorus Z690 Ultra for $227 (originally $370), both with LGA 1700 sockets that would pair nicely with any of Intel's 12th-gen processors.
Storage is another big-ticket item that features big price drops for Prime Day. The huge sale on WD Black SN850X SSDs is still going strong with the 1TB version going for $60 and the 2TB model for just $100, and the Samsung 990 Pro 2TB version is still available for $130. Additionally, the whopping 4TB Crucial P3 Plus SSD is at just $177, which is a ton of super-fast storage for cheap.
