Arcane Mage Class Guide Updated for 10.1.5 Rework - Rune of Power Removed & Orb Barrage Overhaul
Our Arcane Mage Guide is updated for Patch 10.1.5 and a lot has changed! A substantial rework of Arcane brings new talents as well as the removal of Rune of Power and an overhaul of Orb Barrage. Patch 10.1.5 Arcane Mage Guide Arcane Mages Received a substantial rework to its talent tree in 10.1.5.
The biggest change was the removal of Rune of Power and the rework of Orb Barrage from proccing orbs after X numbers of missle casts, instead now Arcane Barrage will have a chance to proc an Arcane Orb. has been removed from it's choice node and moved up the tree to become more available, in addition, Clearcasting has been baselined and in it's place, Concentrated Power which not only improves Arcane Missiles when we get our proc, but also improves Arcane Explosion as well.
Between , Concentrated Power, and Orb Barrage we can expect to cast a lot more Arcane Barrage and a lot less of other spells during AOE. Adding to these changes, the cooldown on Arcane Barrage was also removed, opening the throttle up on our AOE pacing.
On top of all this, our class tree received significant reworks in where things are, our throughput capstones have been replaced with utility ones, incredibly powerful Mass Barrier or Mass Invisibility and Ice Cold. To make room for these, Shifting Power has been moved up the tree and Meteor has been moved to the fire spec tree.
