After months of anticipation, the 16 incoming houseguests set to compete for $750,000 in BigBrother season 24 have finally been revealed. The competition reality show in which sequestered houseguests must survive weekly evictions to become the last person remaining, has been a hit since Big Brother season 1 premiered in 2000. With viewers able to watch the houseguests 24/7 with a live stream subscription, and the houseguests' insightful Diary Room confessionals scattered through each season, Big Brother has equally found success in dozens of countries, including Canada, Brazil, Finland, Germany, Australia and India.
With CBS keeping much of the upcoming Big Brother season under wraps, fans of the series have been speculating over which houseguests will be moving into the season 24 house for weeks. Many viewers, especially online, believed that Big Brother season 24 would be comprised of new and returning players, especially since season 21 alum Kat Dunn has been consistently tweeting potential spoilers. While some fans were adamant that Big Brother season 24 would feature four former competitors in particular, others were expecting some sort of casting twist (such as twins Liz and Julia Nolan switching places in season 15) to shake up the house. In addition, Big Brother season 23 marked the first time that CBS explicitly committed to forming a cast of at least 50% BIPOC players, and viewers expected this to remain true for season 24.
