Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon has left a lot of fans of PlatinumGames’ witchy franchise scratching their heads. It is, after all, essentially a completely different type of game from the core Bayonetta titles -- an isometric action-adventure that weaves a downright wholesome storybook tale while focusing more on unique mechanics, exploration, and puzzle solving than the franchise’s usual high-intensity action. There has also been some question about whether the game justifies the full $60 price tag Nintendo is boldly charging for it.
Well, now you have the chance to try a taste of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon and see if it suits you, as Nintendo has released a free demo for the game. The demo lets you try out the game’s first two chapters (or around 2 hours of gameplay) and progress carries over should you decide to purchase the full game.

I’ve had the opportunity to play Bayonetta Origins myself, and I will warn folks – the game starts a little slow. So, don’t necessarily take its first two chapters to be fully representative of the game as a whole. That said, it’s first two chapters are still plenty charming, so I definitely recommend you give the demo a spin if you’re on the fence.
