Short Tavs, rejoice - we can finally get in on the kissing action. Thanks to Baldur's Gate 3's first major patch, romance partners will finally squat down to kiss shorter races like dwarfs and halflings. We will no longer be forced to kiss their belly buttons while they awkwardly look on, removing one of the funniest oversights in Baldur's Gate 3.
Patch one addresses over 1,000 bugs like this, from making quests finish correctly, to fixing strange bugs with your companions. One of which saw Lae'zel "floating up and down" while you tried to woo her, which is a little off-putting them she's already very intimidating. Most bizarrely though, the patch notes mention fixes for Baldur's Gate's mostly blocked-off Upper City, but there's still no word on when it will become fully accessible.

First things first though, kissing. Larian Studios very much knew what it was doing here, sharing a GIF of Karlach squatting down to smooch her small partner. So no more belly kisses, which I will kind of miss. Check out the full patch notes here.
There are far too many changes to go over here, but for the most part, you shouldn't notice many of them. Lots of the fixes centre around simply ensuring our companions are behaving correctly and quests are playing out as intended. Given all the options there are in Baldur's Gate 3, sometimes the game gets muddled with what conversations we've already had or what options we chose in a quest. Hopefully, these are mostly addressed now.
What is curious though is how the "Upper City" is mentioned twice in these patch notes. While we do go here at some point in the game, it's not the fully explorable area we were promised prior to launch. Sadly, this
