Now that Palia has been in open beta on PC for a couple of weeks, the team is updating the community after feedback on monetization. This comes as a new game update adds the Maji Market event, new emote, and fixes.
The Majji Market is a month-long marketplace with NPC vendors in the Kilima Village Fairgrounds. The Market opens up in the evening and stays open all night and you can gather with other players, get food, listen to music and enjoy a fireworks show. There are new quests you can use to earn prizes and collect the various offerings that the merchants are offering. There are more than 50 prizes and other treats you can find there. There are some surprises and new features for the event, which will run through Tuesday, September 26th.
The patch also adds a new cross-legged sitting emote, six new Found Item quests, and some new decor items, along with housing improvements. Insects will also, helpfully, now be stackable in amounts of 30 to free up some valuable inventory.
There are two new outfit bundles in the Premium Store, which also comes with some important monetization changes.
Monetization in Palia has gotten some criticism since the open beta launch, and this is now being addressed. There are a few changes, including improvements to the premium store to make using it clearer, and adjustments to some of the pricing.
Some of the feedback centers around the outfit bundle discounts not being clear enough. the discounts weren’t clearly shown. They’re changing in an effort to show that you can buy the entire bundle all at once or piece by piece and still get it for the same discounted price. If this doesn't work, they'll consider a more traditional bundle or the discounts are only available upfront.
