Baldur’s Gate 3 got its first big patch only a few days ago, but it seems like players won’t have to wait long for another big update. According to Larian, Patch #2 is “just around the corner,” and while they’ve previously promised it will include various performance updates, this isn’t going to just be a list of bug fixes and technical improvements – players can expect new and updated story content as well. Specifically, Patch #2 will “begin the journey” of adding Origin Character epilogues.

It remains to be seen what form these character epilogues will take. Past Baldur’s Gate titles typically let you know what your party members got up to after the conclusion of your adventure, but Baldur’s Gate 3 comes to a more abrupt end. This has caused some frustration, particularly given evidence has emerged that Larian cut a lot of late-game content in order to ship BG3 on time. So, hopefully, this is the beginning of Larian adding a more substantial ending to the game.
Speaking of adding more content to Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian is teasing they are planning some sort of additional DLC. Perhaps not a full-on expansion, as Larian has said continuing the story would be difficult given how high-level adventures work under D&D rules, but in a recent interview with IGN, Larian’s Tom Bulter says they “want to do more.”
