Larian has released Baldur’s Gate 3’s huge Patch 6 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. It launches on Mac at a later date.
The highlight here is the patch introduces new and randomised kisses for every romantic partner, but that’s not all. There are new camp idle animations, new Legendary Actions for bosses in Honour Mode, as well as quality-of-life improvements, additions, and fixes based on community feedback.
Larian said the new and randomised kisses are unique scenes that “better reflect the personalities of each character”, and have been improved to better accommodate taller and shorter body types.
Patch 6 has also “breathed new life” into the player camp, with new idle animations “that let companions spend their free time doing more than standing around”.
Meanwhile, Patch 6 lets players switch to Custom Mode from any set difficulty, and adds the much-requested ability to dismiss recruited companions while speaking to the companion you want to replace them with (that should save a lot of time!).
Another highlight is that now, when a dialogue triggers automatically, Baldur’s Gate 3 will try to prioritise your avatar character as the main speaker, rather than whoever was at the front of the party, which probably means a little less time in the spotlight for Astarion.
As Larian warned, Patch 6 is a big one. I’m downloading it now on Steam and it’s asking for 139.5GB of free space just to grab a 19.8GB patch, so it may well be quicker to uninstall the full game and redownload the patched version.
As is typical for Baldur’s Gate 3 updates, Patch 6’s patch notes are huge and don't fit on a single Steam page post. Check them out in full below, courtesy of the Baldur's Gate 3 website:
