I have the old BGs, also played some BG2 when I was too young as kid back in the day lol.
I want to play them, but the combat is just so painful and just plain bad. That keeps me from playing a number of CRPG narratives like I want to. The writing and choices should still hold up though for anyone wanting to play.
but speaking of BG2, I wonder if BG3 will be as nasty. That game was dark and I have a feeling BG3 may not be as dark in comparison.
Also, I'm really looking forward to this, but I'm really disappointed in humans' racial bonus. It's nothing compared to what other races get and more carrying weight almost looks like an intentional insult.
@Jaz007 humans did take a bit of a dip for race choice, however they still would make a strong case as the best choice for a «Jack of all trades» achievement run.
After watching many videos, I have finally decided the class and group I'm going to use for my first playthrough. I'm going Good, Lore bard (race choice will be my daughter's to try and get her to join me for a coop run). I'll take a respec Shadowheart Life Cleric, Gale, and Karlach. Can't wait. Hard to keep myself from watching more videos.
As interested as I’ve become in Baldurs Gate 3 from all the glowing praise… my backlog together with my brief dalliance with Divinity Original Sin 2 means I’ll probably end up giving it a miss (until my diary opens up a bit at least). Glad everyone is enjoying it though.
@Elodin What opportunities do you have to respec through the game, exactly?
@kyleforrester87 Within the first couple hours you get a character who goes to your camp and allows full respec. Except for race and possibly background. All stats, classes and subclasses can be respec. You can also respect the companions
