Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has released September’s first wave of PlayStation Plus games.
This month’s PlayStation Plus Essential titles are Saints Row (PS5, PS4), Black Desert – Traveler Edition (PS4) and Generation Zero (PS4).
Subscribers have until October 3 to claim the games.
Essential is the entry-level PlayStation Plus membership tier, which offers subscribers access to a few ‘free’ games every month.
The service’s more expensive Extra and Premium tiers, which were introduced last summer, offer subscribers access to the Game Catalogue, a library of up to 400 downloadable PS4 and PS5 games, as well as Ubisoft+ Classics, a curated selection of titles from the Assassin’s Creed publisher.
Features reserved for Premium subscribers include game trials, cloud streaming, and access to the Classics Catalogue, which includes hundreds of games from the original PlayStation, PS2, PS3 and PSP.
This month’s Essential games were announced last week alongside plans to increase PlayStation Plus subscription prices by up to 35%.
From September 6, the cost of 12-month subscription plans for the service’s Essential, Extra and Premium tiers will rise, with the price going up by $20-$40 / £10-£20 / €12-€32 depending on the chosen membership plan.
“This price adjustment will enable us to continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits to your PlayStation Plus subscription service,” said Adam Michel, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s director of content acquisition and operations.
For existing 12-month members, the price increases won’t take effect until after their next renewal date that takes place on or after November 6, unless they make subscription changes like upgrades or downgrades in the meantime.
