The latest Baldur's Gate 3 patch includes unused dialogue hinting at a new method to recruit Minthara as a companion. In this dialogue, it seems that the player can invite the drow paladin into their party while still preventing the massacre of the druid grove, saving us from making one of the most evil decisions in the game.
However, according to the datamined files, we still won't be able to have both Halsin and Minthara in our camp at once. Usually, we can't have them both anyway because the other has to be killed in their recruitment. But here, Halsin makes us choose between the pair, with the one that is rejected walking away without a fight.
This discovery was made by Tumblr user Merrinla, who shares discoveries made in the game's files on their blog. Here, we can see dialogue for a confrontation between the main character, Halsin, and Minthara, where it becomes clear that you can't have them both at camp.
In this scenario, the druid camp is still fine, since Halsin is still alive. However, knowing that she planned to destroy it, Halsin doesn't trust Minthara at all and refuses to share a camp with her. The fact that she was effectively brainwashed by the Absolute doesn't sway him, as he also points out that she followed Lolth before that. She, again, highlights that this is in the past since Lolth abandoned her anyway, but Halsin isn't convinced she can change.
But just as you thought Halsin was being reasonable, something is complicating the matter here - Minthara's tadpole. If she leaves camp, she leaves the artefact's protection, meaning she'll become a slave to the Absolute once more. You can raise this point with Halsin, but again, he can't be convinced, and he'll leave if you insist on Minthara staying for
