Larian Studios is on a high right now, having won numerous awards at the Golden Joysticks for Baldur’s Gate 3, including the Ultimate Game of the Year. It’s also nominated in eight categories for The Game Awards, including Game of the Year, Best Direction, Best Narrative and more. That’s not all, as the developer is teasing some news for this week.
In a new tweet listing its TGA nominations, it said, “Xbox fans, and fans of physical media, watch this space for a formal announcement. It’s going to be a busy week.” This seemingly indicates a release date announcement for the Xbox Series X/S version, rumored to launch on December 6th. It also seems that a physical version will be available in the West for consoles (and hopefully, PC).
Stay tuned for more details in the meantime. Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PS5 and PC and is currently the highest-rated game of the year on Metacritic and Opencritic. Aside from the Xbox version, it could also receive a new difficulty mode, Honor, per recently discovered Achievements on GOG.
